Oct 2015 - Jan 2016
Autumn term has been extremely busy, and the children have enjoyed their learning. Our maths has been a real strength this term, with regular problem-solving activities to challenge the children and to investigate many different possibilities. We have had a strong focus on learning our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and our recall of these is improving with practise. All this work has been reflected in the great PUMA results for the autumn term. We have also been working on our Grammar and punctuation and are trying to use commas, inverted commas for speech and contractions in our writing. Presentation of the children’s writing has also been a strong focus this term. We have all enjoyed our Artwork and learning about symbols in R.E. The children especially enjoyed celebrating Diwali with Bollywood dancing.
Next term we hope to visit the Fire Station to begin our new topic of Fire. This will eventually lead us to learning about the Great Fire of London. We also hope to include more Science work, and, in R.E to visit the Gurdwara.
