Update From Mrs Reynolds

Dear Parents & Carers,

As you are aware, the government has stated that from the week commencing 1st June at the earliest, primary schools are being asked to welcome back children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 as well as maintaining the provision for priority groups such as children of keyworkers.

Thank you to all parents in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 who have been in touch with regards to your intentions. This is greatly appreciated and will help us with our planning as we move forward over the next few weeks. Please can all other parents of these cohorts, who have not yet done so, let us know by Wednesday 4pm.

Priority Groups – Key Workers

Children of priority groups such as key workers who are not in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 6 will all still be able to attend school. These children will remain as a group in their own bubble. A full curriculum will be planned and delivered to this group. In order to help develop consistency for both children and staff, we ask that this becomes a full-time commitment from 1st June. We are aware that the announcement of more workplaces opening means that circumstances may have changed for some and you may now need to access this provision. If your child requires a place in this group from 1st June, please call or email the office by Wednesday 20th May at 4pm.

High Fliers

The Government’s guidance is very clear in the fact that children will need to be taught in ‘bubbles’ of no more than 15. It is important to reduce contact between people as much as possible, and the guidance says that this can be achieved by ensuring that the children only mix in their small consistent group and that each small group stays away from other people and groups within school. For this reason, at the present time we are unable to open High Fliers Before and After School Provision as we are unable to guarantee that children can remain in this group all day. This will be kept under constant review in line with government guidance and we will inform you when we are able to offer this provision again in the future.

Further information about which bubble your child is in and the start times and finish times for that bubble will be sent out later this week.

We thank you for your continued kindness and support during this time.

Mrs Reynolds.
