Reporting an absence

If your child is unable to attend school please telephone the school office on 01785 334955 before 9am. Alternatively let a member of staff know on the gate or come into the office and let us know directly.

If we have not heard from you we will make contact with you as each absence needs to be accounted for. Absences will only be authorised if your child is away for a good reason, i.e. illness, medical appointments, or any other unavoidable cause. Please try and make medical appointments outside of the school day.

If your child is off school unnecessarily or we are unaware of why the child is absent, this is classed as an unauthorised absence which will show on your child’s records. As part of our safeguarding procedures, we will continue to contact you so that we can be reassured that your child is safe.

Requesting a holiday in term-time

If you wish to apply for term time leave for your child please complete the form below (paper copies available on request) and return it to the School Office. You will then receive a letter notifying you of the decision.

Bad weather and School Closures Information

In the event of the school being closed due to bad weather or for any other reason, parents and carers will receive a text message to inform them of the closure, the School’s Twitter feed will also be updated to reflect the closure.
