Week 5 04.05.20

Friday is a very special Bank Holiday. It marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Your learning this week will be based around this.

Thursday 7th May

Plan a VE Day street party

Millions of people took to the streets of Britain on 8th May 1945 to celebrate VE Day - they hung bunting, waved flags, shared food and danced in the streets.

Create a plan to show what you would have done to celebrate the end of war in Europe. What would you have to eat and drink? How would you decorate?

Extension - Have your own 'stay at home' street party on Friday to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Wednesday 6th May 2020

Make your own radio broadcast to announce Victory in Europe.

You could even pretend to be Winston Churchill!

Tuesday 5th May

Imagine you are a child living in 1945. Write a postcard to missing family member telling them about your VE day celebrations. Draw a picture on the other side to show what you did and what you saw.
